Why Walt’s Outdoor World?

I love this community and love to see happy people. There could not be a better way to achieve both these things than by buying stores that have been part of this community for over 40 years. Walter Middleton built the Army Navy Stores in Tyler and Longview into an incredible business. When I heard he was ready to retire, I knew this was an opportunity I could not pass up.

At Walt’s Outdoor World, or Walt’s Army Navy in Tyler and Longview, we are trying to carry on the great tradition Walter Middleton started. I also want to introduce you to you my dad, who’s name is Walter as well. I thought it would be perfect to call the Stores Walt’s Army Navy after these two. My dad served in World War II as an Armorer in the 553 Ordinance Company, Heavy Maintainence, following General Patton around from England, across the English Channel, into Normandy, then on to Belgium and Germany. He didn’t talk much about it, but I was always proud to have a dad that served his country so unselfishly.

It is my hope that we can serve you as well as Walter Middleton has done for over 40 years, and as selflessly as Walter Mackey did being a part of what has become known as the Greatest Generation. Thank you all for giving us a chance. I hope we can meet and exceed all your expectations!
